Interview

After 6 months of internship, as a consultant, Manon shares her experience with us:

1) Can you introduce yourself in a few words?

My name is Manon, I am 23 years old and I am from Metz.

I am currently a student in M2 Cross-Border Business Law at the Faculty of Metz and am doing my end-of-studies internship at MOSI Consulting in Luxembourg.

This master has the particularity of being based on the comparison of different legal systems, which is a considerable asset for integrating into the world of work.

Regarding my professional experiences, I had the opportunity to discover the world of banking through seasonal jobs and this clearly allowed me to adapt quickly.

About my passions, I particularly like to travel and discover other cultures. I also enjoy going to the cinema.

2) How did you get into legal studies?

Since I have always been attracted to the business world, I preferred to pursue higher studies in law after having validated a scientific baccalaureate.

Moreover, the rigor imposed by sciences such as mathematics or physics chemistry, helped me a lot because law is a discipline that requires a lot of meticulousness.

Whether in Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, law studies are very rewarding because they offer a plurality of knowledge thanks to the diversity of the subjects that are taught, such as business criminal law, tax law or even banking law.

The strength of my career lies in this duality of skills between science and law.

« Regarding my prospects for the future, I wish to continue working in Luxembourg and in particular in the field of financial compliance. »

3) Why did you choose Luxembourg for your internship and what are your prospects for the future?

On one hand, for its geographical location, because the Grand Duchy is located 45 minutes from Metz by transport, and on the other hand, because it has an international influence at the level of the financial center.

In addition, in the banking world, the master’s degree in law offers many opportunities, which is why, quite naturally, I went to Luxembourg, which has many international companies and banks.

In the digital era, financial transactions are increasingly important, in this sense, compliance acts as a tool to obtain better traceability of these exchanges but also to better regulate them. It is a discipline in continuous development and intellectually stimulating.

Regarding my prospects for the future, I wish to continue working in Luxembourg and in particular in the field of financial compliance in order to continue my professional development.

4) A final word?

My best memory at MOSI Consulting remains the afterwork get-together organized at the Sofitel Luxembourg Le Grand-Ducal.

The setting of this place was conducive to a moment of relaxation and exchange for the team before leaving for summer vacation. It was also the moment for the management to thank all the employees for the work done.

Finally, the immersion of working on a project with a client, allowed me to better assimilate the realities of the field in AML / KYC which is my favorite field, but also to strengthen my professional conscience and my sense of team work.
